About the Splash Foundation
The Splash Foundation’s mission is to raise funds for Concordia Elementary to bridge the gap created by statewide budget cuts and fund new and existing enrichment programs that may otherwise be out of reach for a publicly funded school.
For over a decade, a dedicated cadre of parents have sustained this mission with a primary, annual fundraiser, the much-anticipated Splash Bash silent/live auction. This community-building event is made possible by the donations of goods and services from our local businesses. In honor of our appreciation, we provide valuable marketing exposure for each and every business to our expansive family of parents, staff, and friends of Concordia Elementary, a cornerstone of the San Clemente community.
Apart from the annual Splash Bash fundraiser, Splash volunteers also manage Makerspace, the Robotics Club, Science Night, and the 5th grade Science Camp.
Lastly, in collaboration with Concordia’s PTA, Splash also provides necessary financial resources for the needs of teachers and staff via the Funding Request Process, the Teacher-Splash liaison, and the fund-a-need program.
We are always seeking volunteer parents to join us in this important work. It is through the Splash Foundation that our strong, supportive community helps provide the best possible educational experience for every Concordia student.

Concordia's Makerspace encourages increased interest in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Makerspace contains elements of technology, art, design, wood/metal shop, science lab, and more. Students’ recent Makerspace projects include tie-dying shirts for the PTA’s annual Jog-a-thon, constructing decorations for the Splash Foundation’s annual Splash Bash auction, and building haunted houses for the PTA’s Trunk or Treat Haunted House contest. Concordia has a new Marine Ocean lab! Several Concordia teachers have collaborated with Marine Biologist, Conservationist, and Scientist, Nancy Caruso, to build a 3-tank Marine ocean/biology lab enabling Concordia students to help restore California’s threatened abalone population. Tanks were installed in time for the 2025/26 5th grade students to immediately begin establishing the appropriate salt and bacteria levels in preparation for fostering abalone with the hopes of releasing off of our own San Clemente coastline. All grade levels will have access to the lab and eventually, this project will be expanded to enable additional grades to participate.

Recent initiatives include the purchase of 9 Interactive Touch Displays for grades 3-5, a 3-tank Marine Ocean/Biology lab for a California abalone-restoration project, books for a 5th grade reading program, a UCI math teacher training, a UFLI K-3 reading program, iCan Lab furniture, and Imagination Machine assemblies.

Each year, the PTA has provided all 5th grade students with the opportunity to attend a 3-day Science Camp. CUSD does not provide funding for this field trip, yet no child is denied the opportunity to attend Science Camp due to financial hardship. Splash and PTA work together to ensure that all 5th graders are afforded the opportunity for this amazing experience.
